Summer in Philly has its own language. Phillies games, thick humidity, corner-store memories, and that first spoonful of water ice when the heat starts acting disrespectful.
For local skate legend and designer Jimmy Gorecki, those memories never really left. Now he’s turning that Philly summer feeling into a full capsule with Lapstone Presents Jimmy G’s Water Ice, powered by Saucony.
The collection drops Friday, July 3 at 10 a.m. exclusively at Lapstone & Hammer, both in-store and online. It brings together sneakers, tees, hats, and enough nostalgia to make anyone from the region start debating flavors.
Philly Water Ice Meets Saucony
The centerpiece of the Jimmy G Water Ice capsule is the early release of two new Saucony Progrid Omni 9 colorways: Vizi Red/Multi and Mint/Multi.

Both pairs feel loud in the right way. Watermelon red, mint green, blue razz, volt, yellow, and orange run across the mesh and leather uppers like a freezer full of summer flavors. It’s the kind of sneaker that makes sense for July, but could still hit with shorts, cargos, denim, or a clean white tee.
To bring the story home, the campaign was shot by respected skate photographer Chris Mulhern at Via Veneto in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Jimmy’s hometown. Via Veneto has been serving Italian ice since 1976, but for anyone raised around Philly, we already know the word: water ice.
B.J. Betts Gives the Tee Its Soul
The capsule also includes a Jimmy G’s Water Ice tee featuring custom artwork by master tattoo artist B.J. Betts. The design flips JSP into JWI and gives the shirt the feeling of an old hand-painted storefront sign.
That detail matters. It doesn’t feel like random merch. It feels like a memory pulled from the kind of neighborhood spot your parents took you to when the block was hot and everybody wanted something cold.
New Era Hats With Ballgame Energy
Lapstone also brings back its hand-dyed LH x New Era MLB hats in a new “Water Ice” palette. The lineup includes Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, two Phillies logos, and the LH interlock logo.
The tie-dye swirl feels like mixing flavors in the cup. It’s baseball, Philly, summer, and sneaker culture all moving in the same direction.
Why Jimmy G Water Ice Works

The Jimmy G Water Ice capsule works because it doesn’t try to fake the culture. It comes from someone who understands the feeling. Water ice isn’t just dessert in Philly. It’s neighborhood, weather, family, ballgames, and childhood all in one cup.
The Saucony Progrid Omni 9s retail for $165, the Jimmy G x B.J. Betts tees are $60, and the Lapstone x New Era hand-dyed hats are $60.
Lapstone will also celebrate the release with an in-store party on Friday, July 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring DJ Big Ant and complimentary drinks by 13th Street Cocktails.
For Philly heads, sneaker people, and anyone who understands the difference between Italian ice and water ice, this one feels personal.
