Saucony is reaching back into the early 2000s bag with the return of the ProGrid Ride 1, an archival runner that first hit the scene in 2008.
The brand officially announced the comeback on June 26, with the sneaker making its premiere during Paris Fashion Week. For longtime Saucony fans, this is one of those drops that feels familiar without looking stuck in the past. The ProGrid Ride 1 keeps its old-school running DNA but comes back with a few modern updates, including neutral cushioning, a breathable open-hole mesh upper, hexagonal mesh construction, metallic overlays, and a webbed shank-cage design.

The first release arrives in a limited-edition Buttercup colorway, available at select retailers. Saucony also plans to roll out more colorways later this summer.
What makes this one interesting is that it is not just a nostalgia play. The sneaker lands right in that space where running culture, streetwear, and lifestyle style all overlap. It has the shape of an everyday trainer, but the kind of early-2000s energy that sneaker people have been circling back to heavy over the last few years.
The Saucony ProGrid Ride 1 is available in unisex sizing from 3.5 to 12, plus 13 and 14, with a retail price of $175 at Saucony.com and select retailers.
